St Lawrence of Brindisi Catholic Primary School will open at the beginning of the 2022 school year.
Stage One will be built to cater for a maximum of 200 students.
St Lawrence’s will be open to all families who are supportive of the Catholic mission and traditions of the school. According to guidelines set by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, priority entry will be given to baptised Catholic students living in the parish of St Anthony of Padua.
The fees for St Lawrence will be comparable with those of the other Catholic school in the parish (St Anthony of Padua) and for 2022 will be $1,160. There will be additional levies to cover curriculum expense and excursions as per other Melbourne Catholic schools.
St Lawrence’s is a primary school in the St Anthony’s parish, which is in the catchment area of Catholic Regional College, Melton. All enrolments are subject to the college’s enrolment process. Priority is given to Catholic students in Catholic primary schools. A new annex of Catholic Regional College is due to open in Cobblebank in 2023.
Stage One will include a Learning Space with 8 classroom areas and a central flexible learning area. Included in Stage 1 is an additional flexible learning space that can be used by the community, an outdoor learning area, the first half of the school oval and a multi-use synthetic court.
Stage 2 is planned to include another Learning Space with 9 classroom spaces, focused on junior learning but also including a sensory space, a technology learning-space and flexible support rooms for children with additional learning needs. Stage 2 could also see the completion of the second half of the oval and other playing areas for students.
Stage 3 is yet to be clarified but initial plans aim to create an indoor sports hall, additional learning spaces and a larger school administration area.
The development of Stage 4 will be dependent on the needs of the school at that time but would likely involve the completion of further learning areas.
Before and after school care, as well a holiday care is currently being organised and will be provided on-site for children from St Lawrence of Brindisi and for children from the local community.
