Meet Shannon Attard, our Languages Leader & Learning Community Teacher

Shannon Attard comes to St Lawrence’s after teaching in a number of schools across the Western and Northern suburbs of Melbourne.

She has a Masters of education, specialising in literacy, and strongly believes her role as an educator is to prepare students for the future whilst fostering independent enquiry and thinking processes for life.

“Educators must nurture the social, emotional and academic development of children in order to assist them in meeting their full potential. I believe that integrated learning experiences that are meaningful and relevant are key in contributing to the positive development of all learners,” Shannon said.

“The best part of being an educator is building strong and supportive relationships with learners, their families and with school staff. I love to get to know everyone in the community and celebrating diversity and individual strengths, all whilst having fun of course!”

Shannon is excited to be joining St Lawrence and by the prospect of contributing to the development of a positive school culture where everyone can learn and grow.

“My values align strongly with our new school values and I can’t wait to provide our learners with opportunities to become ‘creative, empowered and dynamic learners’,” Shannon said.

She loves to read in her spare time, as well as get a good workout in at my local gym. She also loves spending time with her very energetic Kelpie named Paddy.

Welcome to the team Shannon!
