Dear Families,
Just a reminder to support your children in their efforts to get sponsored and raise money for our Colour Run on November 29.
We are looking for parents and guardians to assist with the organisation of this event to ensure this is a really special day for our children. The more parents and guardians we have helping, the better the event. We have a School Community Team meeting organised for next Thursday at 7:00pm. To make this easier for parents, this is an online meeting. Please let me know if you are able to spare a little time to help and I can send you the meeting invite. Many hands make light work as they say!
BASKETBALL COMPETITION
FOOD BANK DRIVE
As part of their learning program this term, our Discovery Grade Two Learning Community Team are planning to organise a Food Bank Drive next term. This will be organised and led by the Discovery Grade Two children.
SCHOOL ARRIVAL TIME
A reminder that parents and guardians need to make sure that they get their children to school on time. As I noted in last week’s newsletter, some parents and guardians are regularly arriving to drop children off just as the bell sounds. This often leads to parents not parking safely as they try to get their children into school before the school day starts. It also delays the process of locking up the kiss n’ go. It is important that parents and guardians arrive on time and give themselves time to get their children into school safely before the school day starts.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
All children must now be wearing hats to and from school and when playing outside. We need to ensure that we are protecting our children during the warmer, sunnier months. All children must wear a school hat rather than another non-uniform hat or the school beanie. Children without a hat on will need to play in shaded areas.
Next Friday, October 25, we will hold a fundraising day to support the Catholic Mission’s Socktober initiative. We are encouraging all our community to come to school in crazy, colour socks and to donate with a gold coin donation. Please try and encourage your children to let their imaginations run and support this event.
UPCOMING DATES
Please note that due to a timetable clash with multiple competing events, the date of the Semester Two Three-Way Learning Conversations has been changed to Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10. All parents and guardians are expected to attend a three-way learning conversation for each of their children.
